Pilates is a series of non-impact exercises designed by Joseph Pilates to develop strength, flexibility, balance, and inner awareness and promotes a feeling of physical and mental well-being. Joseph Pilates quoted that in 10 sessions you will feel the difference, in 20 sessions you will see the difference, and in 30 sessions you will have a new body. It is a great way to achieve body toning and postural improvement by strengthening and lengthening the muscles without creating bulk.

Bar Pilates at Worx is a fusion Pilates class using Queenax Superfunctional bar. A suspension fitness training bar developed by Queenax that provides a greater level of confidence in suspension thanks to its dual anchor points. Superfunctional is a simple, inclusive tool that accommodates conventional suspended bodyweight Pilates movements plus play-based and skill-based training. Movements are largely dominant in the sagittal plane, but Superfunctional also accommodates multi-planar motions by selecting asymmetric grip positions and rotational movement patterns.
Superfunctional goes beyond traditional suspended bodyweight Pilates by allowing users to stand, sit, push, pull, hang and swing.
If you’ve been doing Pilates for a while you may have found yourself in an ‘exercise comfort zone’ where you aren’t unlocking your full potential and Adding a Fitball, also known as an exercise ball or Swiss ball, to your Pilates workout increases resistance and provides a greater range of motion, which can lead to more effective results.
Apart from the fabulous physical benefits of Pilates classes, here’s why adding Fitball to your routine is a great idea:
- The Fitball provides excellent support for back, neck and joints. If you’re someone who often experiences neck pain, try a Fitball Pilates class and enjoy a strong abdominal workout while your head and neck feel completely supported.
- The added challenge of balancing on the ball which is an unstable base, means you will connect your deep core muscles a little more automatically which will improve your strength.
- Along with the added challenge and fresh approach to old favourite exercises comes new motivation which everyone needs.
